Former Junior Lifeguard and current Rookie Marshall Harris ‘27 created a segment for Atlantic City High School’s Viking News on how being a member of the ACHS swim team prepares lifeguards for the summer. All those interviewed are members of the most recent rookie class from the Summer of 2024.

Members of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol along with Absegami students from Ms Baker’s class spent the morning cleaning the beaches of Atlantic City.

Fairly rough surf affected the 57th John T. Goudy Memorial Rescue Races at the Suffolk Avenue beach Friday. For the fourth straight summer, Atlantic City won the team title, this time with 18 points. The patrol won two events and placed second in two others.

Today our 15 year old @acbpjuniorlifeguards completed the final step in the program. Congratulations to our 2024-25 Rookie Candidates.

Some of our race team were in Brigantine yesterday at the South Jersey Paddle Championships for a night of paddle board racing!

The men’s race team finished fourth in the South Jersey Lifeguard Championships held in Brigantine last night. Highlight of the night was our swimmer Charles Schreiner repeating as South Jersey Swimming Champion. That’s 2 for 2 for our second year guard!

A huge thank you to the @abseconislandboardriders for their generous donation of surfboards, boogie boards, beaterboards, skim boards, wetsuits, and bags for both our @acbpjuniorlifeguards and @acbpminnows programs. We are so appreciative of their kind contribution to our beach patrol and youth programs. We look forward to collaborating for many more years to come for paddle board and surf lessons with both programs!

Lifeguards JJ Walsh, Christina Cohen, Mike Rodriguez, Sabrine Ghazaz, and Andrew Latz represented the beach patrol last night at the @atlanticcitynjgov #NationalNightOut. They participated in torpedo races and donut tosses with those in attendance and distributed water safety pamphlets and plastic whistles.

Today, our ACBP Women’s Race Team had their final competition of the season as they traveled to Ventnor for the Bill Howarth Women’s Lifeguard Invitational. The fog, frigid ocean temperature, and rain made for challenging conditions but our girls were pumped to represent our city! The future looks bright for our young team.

The Atlantic City Fire Department’s Junior Explorers Program visited the Albany Avenue lifeguards for an @acbpjuniorlifeguards experience that included rowing, surfdashing, water safety, Adult and infant CPR, and learned all about whistles and hand signals.

With another victory, Atlantic City’s banner season continues. With two second place finishes from our amazing rowers, ACBP was able to pull out the win at the Margate Beach Patrol World War II Memorial Lifeguard Races. Big props to Vince Granese for doubling up in the rowing events in challenging conditions to lead our patrol to the win!

America’s first beach patrol/ocean rescue since 1891 had a first today as we launched the inaugural ACBP Junior Lifeguard Race Team! A total of 21 boys and girls came out to represent ACBP vs. @wildwood_beach_patrol Junior Guard Race Team in a dual meet. The @acbpjuniorlifeguards came out pumped winning and/or placing in every event.

It’s a full day of in-house racing! In the morning this crew assembled for the annual City Swim Championship. Tonight will be our beach patrol photo and Rookie Games at Albany Avenue! The games begin at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there!

The annual Rookie Games was a success. Lifeguards showcased their run/swim/paddle/rowing skills during a night of friendly competition. The winning team of Blair/Lancaster took home the WIN!

Another unbelievable first place finish for our ACBP race team as we traveled to Ocean City tonight for the South Jersey Lifeguard Pool Championships! Our men’s team placed second overall and combined with a super strong performance from our women’s race team (4th place), secured a stunning first place in the Overall Team Championship.

The Annual Rookie Games took place on Albany Avenue. First, second and third year guards competed in the annual intra-patrol races.
